About the event
You may not have a vegetable garden, but chances are you pass a variety of edible wild foods right in your own neighborhood. In this 1.5 hour class, our farm naturalist, Alanna Burns, will lead you through the most common wild edible and medicinal plants growing at Harlem Valley Homestead. From the backyard to pastures and woods, you will leave with new knowledge of the tastes and practical uses of common plants and mushrooms that grow in our area.
While not a hike, this walk will involve going up and down some hills. Please come dressed for the farm and weather. For your comfort, we recommend long pants, closed-toed shoes, and a hat if there is sun in the forecast.
This is a complimentary community event.
