About the event

Join Sarah Lucas and Mary Beth Reid for a walk around the farm to learn about wild edible plants, pollinator habitat and the role of the original foragers, honeybees, in the ecosystem. We will have our observation honeybee hive on display and honey available for sale. The walk will last about 90 minutes and focus on the magic of common plants in our ecosystem. Sarah will show us how to find, identify, and responsibly harvest wild edibles. Please come prepared for the elements and wear close-toed shoes.

Instructors: Grounded in a philosophy of environmental and agricultural ethics, Sarah Lucas is a farmer at HVH, educator and trained forager. Mary Beth Reid is a master beekeeper, and watches over our farm hives in addition to her own apiary in Millerton, NY.

 Rain or shine, all ages!
