About the event
Join us for a walk around the farm and learn how to forage for wild foods and medicines in Autumn.
Wild plants and mushrooms can be rich in the antioxidants, electrolytes, anti-bacterials, and phytonutrients which our diets increasingly fail to provide. Come 'forest browsing' around our beautiful farm, and meet these resources and the ecological systems that support them. Sarah will discuss how to find, identify, and responsibly harvest this wild abundance. We will close the program giving thanks sharing wildcrafted samples. Please come prepared for the elements and wear close-toed shoes.
*note that the 19th is a Sunday*
Instructor: Grounded in a philosophy of environmental and agricultural ethics, Sarah Lucas is a farmer at HVH, educator and trained forager.
Rain or shine, all ages!
