Carrie is the Crops Manager at Harlem Valley Homestead. She worked on an organic family farm in Pennsylvania before joining HVH, where her favorite job was harvesting potatoes and least favorite was digging trenches. Prior to farming, she worked as a wildlife biologist on projects studying small mammals and deer in Virginia to fishers in the Sierras. Carrie also taught college forestry and wildlife courses in Pennsylvania where she loved taking students into the woods to look at trees.
On a personal note:
Besides farming, Carrie enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, kayaking, and picking berries, often with her elderly border collie by her side.
